For the family

Find a drive-thru living nativity or ancient Bethlehem reenactment event in your area.  Most communities will have something like this.  Here are examples in my community currently.

Bethlehem in Burnet  – A Burnet, Texas church has entire city block converted into “ancient Israel” where visitors may wander around the city to see vendors, workers, Roman soldiers and the like.  Actors stay in character.  You may be fortunate enough to get a piece of bread from the baker (dee-licious!) or catch the carpenter and his wife in a stable with their newborn babe.   Hot chocolate and cookies available as you leave.  No actual fee.  May make a donation.

Follow the Star – in Cedar Park, Texas

Walk or drive-thru, either way the experience is awesome and spine-tingling.  Price: No actual fee but most bring canned food to donate or make a donation.  Hot chocolate and cookies provided as you leave.

Look online for December Christmas events in your community.  They are out there even in the smallest towns!
